Christmas wreaths and garlands: good to know
How long a garland do I need for a mantel?
Measure the mantel shelf and add about a third, so the ends can drape over the sides. Layering two garlands, or adding berry and pine picks, makes a thin garland look full. Our mantel guide shows how.
Can I use them every year?
Yes. Store wreaths flat and garlands loosely coiled in their boxes in January, and they will come out looking the same next November. A hairdryer on its cool setting fluffs them back up.
Are they safe with pets?
Faux greenery has no needles to drop, no sap and no real berries. Real holly and mistletoe can upset pets. Read our pet-safe flowers guide.
